About BUKAS KALINAW Helping Today. Helping Tomorrow
HISTORY
The Second Chance Journey
Bukidnon Kauban sa Kalinaw Association Inc. (Bukas Kalinaw) is committed to promoting environmental consciousness, peace, and inclusive development in Bukidnon. As a SEC-registered organization (SEC Registration No. 2024050153120-15), we recognize the deep connections between environmental issues, peace, and development. Our efforts aim to create positive outcomes across these areas. We engage in research, social investigations, environmental and peace-awareness forums, leadership training, and livelihood programs. Additionally, we facilitate dialogue in conflict-affected areas and collaborate with both government and non-government organizations to drive meaningful change.
Founded on November 28, 2019, at CapDev X Building, Brgy 10, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, Bukas Kalinaw faced delays in implementing its programs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we were revitalized on April 28, 2023, following an assembly convened by the 403rd Infantry Peacemaker Brigade of the 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army. This assembly set the foundation for our renewed focus on environment, peace, and development.
In October 2023, following a Peace Forum in Impalambong, Malaybalay City, Bukas Kalinaw decided to prioritize peace campaigns through community empowerment and dialogue in conflict-affected areas. We also invited various People’s Organizations to collaborate in advocating for genuine peace and inclusive development. By uniting these efforts, we aim to enhance our impact and create a stronger, unified voice for environmental protection, peace, and development.
In January 2024, our new council members developed the 2024 General Action Plan. On March 11, 2024, we were officially registered with the SEC, affirming our organizational capacity to sustain our initiatives. By July 2024, Bukas Kalinaw expanded its reach across the province, leading various federations in advancing regional peace and development efforts.
